Cambugahay Falls

Cambugahay Falls, in the town of Lazi, is one of Siquijor's most photographed natural sites: a series of turquoise pools stepping down through dense jungle, numbered 1 to 4 from the bottom of the site up. A steep staircase — roughly 150 steps — leads down to Basin 1, at the very bottom, and back up past the other three basins on the way out, so plan for a real climb at the end of your visit.

Basin 1, right at the foot of the staircase, has the highest jumps — at least 5 meters — the spot for anyone chasing a real adrenaline rush. Heading back up, Basins 2 and 3 are gentler, with jumps of around 1 meter each, more suited to families and less experienced swimmers. Basin 3 is generally considered the most photogenic of them all, for both the rope swing and the bamboo raft, and it's where you'll find the local liana operators Siquijor Best Of has an informal, friendly partnership with — visitors who come with the Siquijor Best Of app are treated even better there. Basin 4, at the top, is home to the "fairy walk" — the graceful rope-swing glide across the water that went viral in 2025 after actress Anne Curtis was filmed doing it here, sparking a wave of visitors trying to recreate it.

The site fills up and gets increasingly commercialized as the day goes on. Arriving before 8-9am is the best way to enjoy the falls with fewer crowds and clearer water, before other visitors stir up the sediment. Water shoes are recommended, as the rocks around the pools are slippery.

Prices and practical tips

Each liana (rope swing) costs ₱50 — once you've paid, jumps on that specific liana are unlimited. However, each liana/basin has a different owner, so if you move to another basin you'll need to pay ₱50 again there. A bamboo raft is also available, at Basin 1 and Basin 3, for ₱50 per person.

For photos and videos, count on around ₱50 per person to have a local photographer capture your jump. Good tip: give your phone number to the guide on site — for a decent tip (around ₱200-500), they'll put together an incredible photo and video montage of your visit and send it to you afterward.
