Papi's Bistro sits in the centre of Lazi, in a modern room. It is first and foremost a pizza address, and that is where the reviews are clearest.
What to order: the pizza, thin-crust, topped right to the edge. The house serves a 50 cm format, three times the surface of a standard pizza and easily enough for several people. One guest staying in Lazi describes ordering it every other day. On the local side: inato chicken and sizzling pork sisig. For coffee, the iced ube latte is named specifically.
Good to know: Papi's Bistro and El Monte Cafe are next door to each other. If one is closed or full, the other is literally adjacent. Handy once you have made the drive to Lazi.
Opening hours: the two sources contradict each other, 7am-10pm according to Google, 10am-8pm according to TripAdvisor. A five-hour gap, with no update date on either. Call before travelling in the evening: +63 956 587 2849.
Our honest take: the Google rating is 4.0/5, on a still-small number of reviews. Two concrete complaints recur: small portions for the price on the burgers, and a garlic pizza judged dry and under-topped. The large-format pizza, by contrast, draws only positive feedback. This is a one-dish address: order that dish.
