Salamandas

Salamandas is the beachfront restaurant of Coco Grove Beach Resort in Tubod, San Juan, on Siquijor's south-west coast. With open-air tables on the sand and a view over the sea, it suits couples, families and anyone looking for a polished dinner out, whether or not they are staying at the resort.

The kitchen focuses on seafood and international cooking with island influences, alongside Filipino dishes and daily specials. Reviewers most often single out the steak and the beef tapa, which several call the best on the island, as well as the mahi-mahi, the crispy chicken curry and the homemade cakes and tarts. Portions are generous: some dishes can be shared between two or three people. Breakfast with a sea view is a popular option for non-guests too.

Atmosphere

Most comments praise the food and the friendly service. Less positive reviews mention some dishes being too sweet, an underwhelming soup, and service judged less attentive than at the resort's other restaurant, Sunset.
