Cantabon Cave

Entrance fee: ₱20 + ₱500 for a guide (good for up to 3 people) — the standard municipal rate. If you book through a private tour operator as part of a day trip, expect to pay more (often ₱500–1,500 all-in), since that usually bundles transport and other stops.

Cantabon Cave is a roughly 800-metre limestone cave in the municipality of Siquijor, known for its stalactites, stalagmites, flowstone, and a year-round underground river running through three main chambers — some with ceilings up to 20 metres high. The most striking spot is nicknamed the "Cathedral Chamber," where guides sometimes switch off the lights for a moment of total darkness.

Plan for 2–3 hours including the short hike to the entrance (longer if you take an extended route). Wear water shoes or old sneakers with good grip and quick-dry clothing, bring a headlamp or flashlight and a dry change of clothes, and leave jewellery behind — it catches on the rocks. It's a fun, moderately challenging adventure, not a stroll, so go in with the right footwear and expectations.
