Luca Loko

San Juan Siquijor Central Visayas

Let's Go ⬆️

Right on the main circumferential road in Maite, impossible to miss while touring the island — a wide variety of international dishes, with several vegetarian and vegan options.

4.5 out of 5 from more than a thousand Google reviews, and 4.6 on TripAdvisor where it ranks sixth of the island's 122 restaurants. Luca Loko is one of Siquijor's best tables, and in our view the best place on the island for a breakfast smoothie bowl — clearly a level above what the more photogenic beach places serve.

One thing to know before you plan your evening: there is no view

Luca Loko sits roadside in Maite, not on the shore. You come for the plate, not the sunset. That is precisely what distinguishes it: the cooking does not need the scenery.

What to order

The Buddha Bowl is the dish guests name most, across every platform. Then the smoothie bowls, of which Ocean Vibes at 280 ₱ stands out. On the hot side: satay noodles, shakshuka (also in a tofu version), Thai chicken curry, pumpkin gnocchi at 360 ₱, peanut noodle salad at 380 ₱, creamy garlic chicken at 390 ₱, nasi goreng, Korean bulgogi, tuna poke.

And one item reviews mention with unusual insistence: the mango shake, made with no added sugar on an oat milk base. One guest writes it is the best he has ever had.

Good to know

Free wifi and spotless bathrooms, which makes it a working address if you are staying a while. You are brought a warm towel before the meal — a detail three separate sources mention. Portions are generous and plating is careful. Bring cash.

Opening hours: be careful

Sources give 7am-10pm, 7am-11pm or 7am-midnight, and the Google listing contains obvious inconsistencies. No closing day is reported. A call before a late visit: +63 906 213 8840.

Our view, honestly

It is expensive by Philippine standards, and that is the most consistent complaint in the reviews. One point for strict vegans: a documented review disputes the vegan labelling of some dishes, with white chocolate used to decorate a bowl. Ask when you order.

For a proper dinner with a view, see Hidden Valley. For Filipino food at a third of the price, Roadside Diners. The full ranking is in the 10 best tables on Siquijor.
