Tulapos Marine Sanctuary

Entrance fee ₱100 per person, plus a guide fee of around ₱250–300 for a group of two (guides are compulsory, and know exactly where the marine life gathers).

Established in 1986, Tulapos is one of Siquijor's oldest marine sanctuaries, protecting roughly 14 hectares of mangrove forest, coral reef and shoreline in Enrique Villanueva. It's an excellent spot for snorkellers: expect schools of barracuda and trevally, sea turtles, giant clams, starfish, and — a rarer sight — small blacktip reef sharks patrolling the shallows.

Snorkelling gear can be rented on site: ₱50 for mask and snorkel, ₱100 for fins. Go at low tide if you can — less swimming over seagrass to reach the reef, and calmer water overall. Reef shoes are worth bringing since the entry point is rocky in places, and please avoid standing on the coral.
