Apo Diver Beach Resort

Apo Diver is first and foremost a PADI 5-star dive resort on Solangon Beach in San Juan — it's the diving, not the rooms, that draws most guests. Instructors teach everything from a first "Discover Scuba" try-dive to Divemaster level, in six languages (German, English, French, Spanish, Tagalog, Cebuano), and daily boat trips run from 9am to 3pm aboard the dive boat Yoriko, with small groups capped at 4 divers per guide and 8 people per boat — a nice change from the crowded dive boats found elsewhere in the Philippines. Dive sites nearby range from shallow 3m reefs to 50m technical depths.

Rooms are simple but comfortable, generally in the $50–90 a night range depending on season, with sea views on some units, an outdoor pool, free parking, and a short walk to the beach itself. After diving, the beach bar is the default meeting point for a cold drink and sunset.
