Monkey Beach

Monkey Beach is one of Siquijor's quieter beach escapes, tucked along the coast in Maria and offering a genuinely tranquil alternative to the busier stretches around San Juan. The cove is small, backed by palm trees, and framed by pale sand that curves along the shoreline.

Unlike the island's postcard swimming beaches, the water here stays shallow close to shore, so it's not the spot for a proper swim or snorkeling session — but that's exactly what keeps it peaceful. Visitors come here more for the quiet than for water sports: to walk the sand undisturbed, watch the light change over the water, or simply enjoy a stretch of coast with barely anyone else around.

You can reach Monkey Beach by scooter or tricycle along the coastal road, or as part of a boat tour that traces the shoreline from San Juan — either way, it's a worthwhile detour if you're looking for a moment of solitude away from the island's more popular spots.
