The Climb to the Summit

Reaching the chapel means climbing a steep flight of concrete steps — over 200 of them — winding up through the surrounding landscape, lined with religious statues and small shrines along the way. The climb can be tough in the midday heat, so comfortable shoes and plenty of water are worth bringing.

The Open-Air Chapel and the View

At the top sits an open-air chapel with sweeping views over Siquijor's coastline and hills — turquoise water, dense greenery and the horizon beyond. The open design lets you take in the landscape while still standing inside a place of worship.
