This page is not a ranking. If you want scores and review counts side by side, read The best bars on Siquijor, by the numbers. This guide answers a different question: where to be at each point of the evening.
We list 11 bars and bar-restaurants. Ten are in San Juan, on the west coast, which is where almost all of the island's evening life happens. The eleventh, Firefly, is inland in Lazi and works as a daytime stop rather than a night one.
The page follows a night in order: sunset drinks from about 4pm, dinner and live music, cocktails after dinner, the few places open late, and the weekend beach parties. A table then matches each venue to a need, followed by practical tips and a short FAQ.
The one tip that matters most: check closing times before you plan. They vary widely. One terrace closes around 9pm, one bar-restaurant at 11pm, a street bar at 12.30am, and only one venue is documented as staying open until 2-3am most nights. Closing days matter too, and the parties only run three nights a week.
Sunset drinks (from about 4pm)
The west coast faces the sunset, so the evening usually starts outside with a drink.
- La Canopée - Lambojon Terraces: a hillside terrace in Lambojon beside an infinity pool, with one of the best sunset views on the island. There is a ₱200 entrance fee, consumable at the bar. It is open roughly 6am to 9pm, so treat it as a sunset stop, not a late one. Mid-range (₱₱).
- Get Wrecked Beach & Sports Bar: a laid-back beach bar in the middle of San Juan with a 4-6pm happy hour timed for the sunset. It is rated 4.1/5 on 329 Google reviews, the lowest among San Juan's well-known spots, mainly because of the food. Budget (₱), with a menu mixing local and international dishes.
RumBar, covered under the late spots below, also sits on the sand and is a common place to start with a sunset drink. Mystropical Cocktails Bar, covered under cocktails below, faces the sunset from its street tables at Lala-o Bridge and opens at 4.30pm.
Dinner, drinks and live music
Most bars here also serve food, so many people simply stay where they ate. Three mid-range (₱₱) options:
- El Kabron Siquijor: in Solangon, rated 5.0/5 across roughly 270 Google reviews and 5.0 on TripAdvisor, where it sits 10th of 50 restaurants in San Juan. One of only two addresses on the island holding a 5.0 (the other is Mystropical Cocktails Bar, below), and the only one of the two with a swimming pool. Evening service runs from 3pm until 10pm or midnight.
- Republika Beach Bar: a beach bar and grill in Maite, on San Juan's west coast, with rooms upstairs. Rated 4.5/5 from nearly 300 Google reviews and 4.7 on TripAdvisor; travellers often describe it as underrated.
- Baha Bar: a bar-restaurant in Maite open 11am to 11pm, with a live band every night from 6.30pm to 9.30pm. The simplest answer on this list if you want dinner and music in one place.
After dinner: cocktails and quieter bars
- Mystropical Cocktails Bar: rated 5.0/5 from 1,075 Google reviews, the largest review count of any bar on the island rated 5.0. A street bar with blue tables by Lala-o Bridge, facing the sunset, open every day from 4.30pm to 12.30am, with no entrance fee and no air conditioning. Reviews often mention that the cocktails are not watered down; the house creation is the Island Potion, and fresh sea urchin is also served. It is run by Stéphanie, who was born and raised on Siquijor. Drinks are listed at ₱95-₱400, with cocktails around ₱200.
- Tipsy Bar: rated 4.6/5 from more than 500 Google reviews, which makes it the island's third highest-rated bar, behind Mystropical Cocktails Bar and El Kabron (both 5.0). Proper cocktails, board games, and a deliberately calmer room than the big beach places. Evenings only, closed on Tuesdays. Mid-range (₱₱).
Late spots (after midnight)
Few of the venues we list stay open past midnight. Plan accordingly.
- RumBar: right on the sand in San Juan, open until roughly 2-3am most days, which is unusual for this stretch of coast. Rated 3.9/5 on Google from 200+ reviews, with reviewers rating the setting highly. Mid-range (₱₱).
- Runik: charges a ₱350 entrance fee, consumable at the bar. It also offers accommodation, listed at ₱500-₱2,000+ per night. Our listing does not give closing hours, so check its page before planning a late night there.
Weekend beach parties
- JJ's Backpackers: a beachfront hostel and bar in San Juan, and one of the best-known places on Siquijor to meet other travellers. By day it is hammocks and simple beach seating; on Friday, Saturday and Sunday it hosts beach parties from 9pm.
Outside San Juan: a daytime stop
- Firefly Treehouse Cafe and Bar: a treehouse café and bar in the vegetation of Lazi, budget-priced (₱). It keeps daytime hours on selected days, so fit it into a day trip around the island rather than an evening out. Check its page for the current days.
A typical night, step by step
Weeknight: sunset at La Canopée or the Get Wrecked happy hour, dinner at El Kabron, Republika or Baha Bar, then Mystropical until 12.30am or Tipsy Bar (not on a Tuesday). If you want to keep going, RumBar is the documented late option.
Friday to Sunday: the same start, then the beach party at JJ's Backpackers from 9pm.
